The medical alert bracelet has been given an inspired technological make-over and is being introduced to the public via an Indiegogo campaign. The innovative Amyko bracelet has the potential to save lives by providing important information with a simple tap from a smartphone.
Milan, Italy, June 30, 2015 (Newswire.com) - A new way for people to keep their family safe, while also looking out for their own health and first aid, is being introduced to the world via an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. This campaign has a funding goal of $70,000, which needs to be raised in order to bring the Amyko medical and first aid bracelet to market. This device was inspired by the many scenarios people face in their daily lives, and the fact that emergencies occur every day. While medical alert bracelets have been around for years, they are very basic and the info they provide is minimal. Amyko uses modern smartphone technology to take the medical alert bracelet to the next level. The result, is a truly inspired device that could genuinely save a life by providing important information quickly.
Amyko is a fully customizable modular bracelet that uses NFC (Near Field Communication) to communicate with a smartphone or tablet. It can easily be personalized with a wide variety of colors and textures in order to suit a person’s specific preferences, and is very easy to use. A person simply inputs all of their relevant information: master data, blood type, allergies and intolerances, medications that are being taken, current therapies, vaccines, prophylaxis, relative or emergency contacts, medical reports, personal notes and personal physician. The user then sets their privacy settings, and wears the bracelet. In the case of an emergency or other health related need, anyone with a smartphone can simply tap the bracelet with their phone and will then be able to view all relevant info on the phone. The bracelet also has a “Direct call” feature which is used in the absence of a smartphone with NFC reader, a “Self Help” feature that enables the device to send a text message to a relative in case of an emergency, and a “Medical Reminder” feature. The creative team behind this bracelet has thought of any potential need a user could have in regards to health and safety.
"Need First Aid information fast? Get medical info to the important people in your life with Amyko: a simple and practical device that contains all the important information for your health and that of your loved ones."
Amyko, Team
The Amyko team has been very hard at work with all of the essential ground work for their inspired bracelet, and they are now ready to begin the next phases in production which is why they have launched their Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. They currently have fully functioning prototypes and a projected shipping date of November 2015, which means all campaign supporters should get their bracelet in time for Christmas. As an added bonus with the campaign, the team is offering several perks. These perks, which serve as funding incentives, give supporters of this campaign the opportunity to pre-order Amyko at a substantial savings off of the regular retail price. The bracelet can be pre-ordered from a single bracelet to a retail pack of 50, and customization packs are also available for pre-order. Full details can be found on the Indiegogo campaign page.
