Smart Crowdfunding is slated to carry out strategic marketing initiatives for the 'Heritage Home' crowdfunding project on Indiegogo. This campaign is fundraising to purchase an orphanage for impoverished children in Indonesia.
Batam, Indonesia, September 23, 2014 (Newswire.com) - John Covert launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign on August 28th in order to raise the funds needed to purchase a children’s home in Indonesia. This campaign has a funding goal of $85,000, which needs to be raised by October 27th in order to keep the house that Covert has been renting for the children since January 2013. Covert states, “Most orphanages in Indonesia are quite poor, I decided I wanted the children to live in a very nice safe house and environment. The house is in a wonderful neighborhood, within walking distance to their schools”.
Covert’s orphanage, ‘Heritage Home’, currently has 8 children in their care, with 2 caregivers. While he has managed to keep these children in a good home since 2013, the owners of the house they have been renting plan on selling it in January 2015. Covert is trying to keep Heritage Home and doing everything in his power to keep the children safe and cared for. This is why he is hoping to raise the funds needed to purchase the house that the children currently call home. Stability is very important for children, especially when they have already lost everything.

This idea behind Heritage Home started in 2011, when Covert went to Indonesia with Harvest Ministries of Roanoke, Virginia and witnessed orphaned children living in desperate poverty. He knew it was his calling to help these innocent victims of circumstance and made a trip back to Indonesia in order to open his orphanage in January of 2013. However, he needs help in order to keep Heritage Home which is why Covert launched a crowdfunding campaign. All funds raised will go toward the purchase of the house the children are currently living in. If they can’t raise the funds they will be forced to find a new location, and uproot the children yet again. The campaign is offering two perks to Heritage Home supporters, a personal thank you from the children or coffee from Siantar. According to Covert, Siantar coffee is the “best coffee on the planet”. Since large portions of the country are underdeveloped many children continue to live in extreme poverty, unsanitary conditions and suffer from a lack of education.
