The Movie Game™ Has Been Reinvented for the Modern Audience

Frank Sacks is relaunching his highly successful blockbuster hit "The Movie Game" for a whole new audience. The 2015 version of the game combines the best of the classic board game with modern gaming technology, in order to add a thrilling new social element and inventive game perks to an already exciting gaming experience.

Frank Sacks, a Hollywood writer/producer who invented “The Movie Game”, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. This campaign has a funding goal of $25,000, which is being raised to reinvent the game for a modern audience by integrating the board game with modern technology.  When it was initially launched in 1981, The Movie Game was widely embraced and sold out in over 500 department stores. Board games have been making a huge comeback recently, so the team thought it was time to take another look at their game. Sacks states, “Today, an amazing 34 years later, we are here to share with you the new design and innovative game play features that only the newest streaming technology has made possible.  Our new Net/Boarding™ connectivity and 2015 version of TMG is a state-of-the-art board game product with features that enable players to be a part of the real Hollywood by making their own dreams come true.”

The object of The Movie Game is to become the first player to make a film, get three foreign distributors and reach the big-screen. The players move around the Monopoly-like game board (via dice and game cards), collecting money ranging from $50,000 as a minor reward, to $200,000 for a major network television deal as they have to ante up $25,000 in legal fees or 20% of all cash in hand for a "personal manager fee". During gameplay, the player must also obtain a writer, producer, director, and star. The best part about TMG 2015, is that it combines the classic board game with a mobile game app giving players the best of both worlds while allowing them to be connected regardless of their physical location. As the team states, “Imagine playing TMG at home, rolling the dice and then being connected to a Hollywood celebrity, or winning a face-to-face Skype call with an experienced casting executive, special effects creator, well-known writer, producer or director, or even uploading your TMG audition while playing the board game, and then TMG players around the world "liking" your performance.” It is this element of the game that adds a whole new level of excitement to The Movie Game experience.

"The Movie Game™ is NOT a trivia game. We are a real life wheeling/dealing fast paced roll-the-dice game!"

Frank Sacks, Creator

The creative minds behind this project have been hard at work with all of the essential groundwork for the new and improved “The Movie Game”, and they are finally ready to bring this gaming experience to the modern world which is why they have launched their crowdfunding campaign. As an added bonus with this campaign the team is offering several perks. These perks, which serve as funding incentives, range in value from a “Production Assistant” perk which gives supporters a valuable gameplay bonus while also allowing them to follow the campaign and receive all of the updates, to the opportunity to pre-order the game at a substantial savings off of the regular retail price.  The team is even offering 3 lucky supporters the opportunity to be flown to Austin, Texas where they will spend the night at Frank Sacks’ historic 1890 home and be an honored guest at a “Texas Blockbuster Party”. Full details can be found on the Indiegogo campaign page.
